Gwadar to Host PSL 10 Player Draft

LAHORE, (TDI): The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) announced on Friday that Gwadar, the port city in Balochistan, will host the Player Draft for the 10th edition of the HBL Pakistan Super League (PSL).

The exciting event is set to take place on Saturday, January 11, 2025, with the exact time to be revealed soon.

The decision to choose Gwadar as the host city aims to promote cricket in the region and inspire the next generation to pursue the sport professionally, according to the PCB.

Gwadar to Welcome Cricket Stars

PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi expressed that Gwadar, with its breathtaking coastline and strategic importance, symbolizes the heart of Pakistan’s economic future.

He highlighted that hosting the PSL Player Draft in Gwadar would celebrate both the region’s cultural and economic significance, while also underscoring the unity that cricket brings to the nation.

“I’m excited to welcome all franchises and stakeholders to the beautiful city of Gwadar on January 11 as we take the next step toward kicking off the 10th edition of Pakistan’s biggest sporting event,” he said.

HBL PSL Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Salman Naseer also expressed pride in choosing Gwadar for the Player Draft, emphasizing the league’s commitment to expanding its reach across Pakistan and showcasing the country’s beauty to the world.

“HBL PSL is more than just a cricket league to Pakistan’s passionate fans; it is a celebration of the country’s talent, diversity, and passion. By holding the Player Draft in Gwadar, we hope to inspire young cricketers from Balochistan and beyond to chase their dreams,” Naseer added.

The PCB also confirmed that the relegation process and player retention details will be announced by the end of December.
