Lahore, 28 January 2022 (TDI): Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan (COAS), General Qamar Javed Bajwa mentioned that countering misinformation is essential for the integrity of the state.
He shared his views while on a visit to the headquarters of 4 Corps. The visit took place on Friday. During the meeting, the Chief of Army Staff underscored the significance of unity. He expressed that it can not be sidelined.
The nation must remain united to fight the hostile forces, he further stressed. Talking about the ongoing propaganda he stated that it is damaging and has adverse effects.
Misinformation and false facts must be dealt with strictly. Since such misinformation campaigns have negative effects. Additionally, General Qamar Javed Bajwa was briefed on various other important matters.
Interaction with people from several institutes
COAS of Pakistan addressed the Vice-Chancellors and faculty members of a few universities as well. The student body was also among the audience who listened to him.
The universities included Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), Forman Christian College (FCC), and the University of Engineering and Technology (UET).
Furthermore, the Lahore School of Economics (LSE) and the University of Punjab (PU) were also there. Government College University abbreviated as GCU was also present.
General Qamar Javed Bajwa expressed his appreciation for the work that is being done in the sector of education by these prestigious institutes. He highlighted that the role they are playing is commendable.
Not only that he especially mentioned that these institutes are rightly producing future leaders. The graduates are proving to be useful citizens. Moreover, he stressed the fact that there is still a need to develop human resources.
Having said that he added that human development must be carried on for various sectors in general. To be more particular the sectors that were highlighted were education, health, infrastructure, and environment. These domains require immediate and effective attention.
