On August 15, 2023, the second anniversary of the Conquest of Kabul was observed. The occasion was marked by the commemoration of celebratory statements by political figures and organizations across the nation to honor the Afghan people.

Statement by Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan

On the morning of  August 15, 2023, the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (IEA) passed the official statement on the second anniversary of Conquest of Kabul. In the statement, it was highlighted that 20 years of jihad and victory against occupation is the fact that the Afghan people and the whole Ummah stand proud of.

It was noted that the Afghan Mujahiddins throughout their history have sacrificed for their religion, freedom, and country. As a result of these sacrifices the biggest dream of strengthening the Islamic system has been fulfilled.

It was stated that the Islamic Emirate as the responsible system for its Mujahid people was successful in ending Jihad and preparing the way for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

Moreover, it was highlighted that with the emergence of Islamic Emirate, the security of the country is achieved, the whole territory is under a single leadership and the Islamic system is in place as per Shariah. However, the statement signifies the sacrifices of the Afghan people.

It was further noted that the Conquest of Kabul serves as evidence that Afghanistan’s nation cannot be easily controlled by anyone.

This day also symbolizes the unsuccessful endeavors of those who attempted to invade, highlighting that they were unable to establish any form of rule over the country.

Lastly, it was stated that the officials of IEA are committed to serving their nation within the Islamic Shariah and will work for the betterment of the country. Also, no invader will be allowed to threaten the freedom and independence of Afghanistan.

Messages by the political officials of IEA

On the day of the second anniversary of Kabul, many political officials of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan delivered messages for the Afghan nation, including the Interior Minister of IEA Sirajuddin Haqqani.

In his message, he mentioned that many brave people have sacrificed their lives for the cause of the freedom of the country. He added that they might not be present today, but their dreams are.

Moreover, he stated that all those people invested everything in restoring the system of the country. He added that the nation stands proud of them.

In addition, while expressing his views on the second anniversary, the Governor of Balkh, Alhaj Muhammad Yusuf Wafa stated, that the 45-year-old war was completely ended under the rule of the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan. He added that the nation is now under complete governance of the Islamic system.

Also, the Governor of Nuristan,  Sheikh Sher Ahmad Haqqani in his message called the day “the golden day” of the country’s history.

He added that due to the unparalleled sacrifices of the Mujahideen of the Islamic Emirate, the occupation by invaders came to an end and the Islamic system prevailed.

Besides that, the Governor of Paktika, Maulvi Faizullah Jamal on the occasion of the second anniversary said the Islamic Emirate has not just gained victory in the military field but in the political field as well.

Moreover, he emphasized that on the day of the Conquest, the leaders of the Islamic Emirate declared the general statement of forgiveness for all criminals with utmost generosity.

Ceremonies across the country

Apart from the messages by the Ministers and Governors, many gatherings and ceremonies were organized countrywide to commemorate the second anniversary.

A ceremony in this course was organized at the Ministry of Defense in Kabul and was attended by the Defense Minister of IEA, Mullah Muhammad Yaqoob Mujahid. At the ceremony, he paid tribute to the sacrifices of the martyrs.

Another ceremony was organized at the Kandahar Police Training Center that was participated by Ulemas, poets, reciters, officials, and many citizens.

The head of the Jihadi Madrassah, Sheikh Maulvi Sarwar Shah Agha at the ceremony stated that freedom is a great blessing and that they should be grateful for this great blessing.

He added that the people of Kabul should find the protection of freedom as their duty.

In the celebration of the anniversary, Parkour and Taekwondo competitions were organized in the Nangarhar province with the support of the Sports Department of Nangarhar Province and the Administration of Youth Affairs of Nangarhar.

Parkour performances were orchestrated by numerous participants across various locations within Jalalabad city, drawing a substantial turnout of citizens. Additionally, Taekwondo tournaments took place at the Shaheen Sports Club.

Apart from this, sports performances were also organized by the players of various clubs in the Khogiano district of Nangarhar expressing their support to the government.

The province of Farah also celebrated the day with full zeal as the ceremony was organized by the Department of Information and Culture of the IEA in this regard.

The ceremony was attended by the Governor of Farah, Mullah Noor Mohammad Rouhani, members of Ulema Shura, many chiefs, scholars, tribal elders, hundreds of young people, journalists, poets, artists, and civil and military officials.

Muhammad Abdullahi, the President of the Department of Information and Culture in Farah province, not only extended congratulations on the occasion of the second anniversary but also expressed gratitude towards the attendees of the gathering. He characterized the victory as an outcome achieved through the sacrifices of martyrs.

On the other hand, the head of the Youth Affairs Department of Information and Culture Department of Farah, Mawlawi Abdul Khaliq Rouhani, expressed that all the people, especially the youth, are in favor of IEA. They made great sacrifices for the victory and independence of their country.

Besides, a ceremony was also held at the Jamia Kabul which was widely attended by a substantial number of students.

Inclusively, a military parade was held to commemorate the second anniversary. Also, the weapons and military vehicles recovered from the American troops were displayed in remembrance of the Kabul Victory Day.

Meanwhile, citizens recited the Holy Quran in mosques and homes on the occasion of the day.

In summation, the second anniversary of the Conquest of Kabul was commemorated with utmost zealous by the Afghan people and political officials by holding multiple countrywide ceremonies and gatherings.
