Kabul, 6 August 2021 (TDI): Ross Wilson, Chargé d’ Affaires of US to Afghanistan and Dr Abdullah Abdullah, Chairman of the High Council for National Reconciliation in Afghanistan has expressed grief on the targeted killing of Dawa Khan Meenapal, Director of the Afghan government’s Media Information Centre. They condemned the targeted killing by the Taliban and expressed concerns about Afghans Human Rights and freedom of speech.
Dawa Khan Meenapul, earlier today, was shot dead in a mosque at Darul Aman Road, Kabul. The Taliban had warned administrative officials that they will get targeted if US airstrikes perpetuate in Taliban areas. The Taliban claimed responsibility for the incident stating that he was punished for what he did. Earlier, the Taliban tried to attempt the assassination of the Defence Minister of Afghanistan while signaling further attacks on government officials.
