June 8, 2021 (TDI): Commander of Azerbaijan’s Naval Forces Rear Admiral Subhan Bekirov met with Naval Chief Admiral Amjad Khan Niazi in Islamabad today. Admiral Bekirov was presented with a guard of honor upon his arrival and the dignitary laid a wreath at the Shuhada monument at NHQ.
There was an exchange of views on regional and maritime security and stability, and the visiting dignitary praised Pakistan’s role in maritime security.
It is believed that the meeting which was long-awaited will contribute to the strengthening of ties between Pakistan and Azerbaijan. Both countries cooperate on a range of areas of mutual interest including strong military ties.
