Kuwait, 29 November 2023 (TDI): The Chief of Army Staff (COAS) of Pakistan, General Asim Munir on an official visit to Kuwait, engaged in high-level discussions with Kuwait Crown Prince Sheikh Meshal Al Jaber Al Sabah.
COAS General Munir was accompanied by a distinguished delegation, including interim Law Minister Ahmad Irfan Aslam, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Kuwait Malik Mohammad Farooq, and other esteemed officials.
Upon reaching arrival, he was greeted by Major General Engineer Dr. Ghazi Hassan Al-Shammari, the Chief of General Staff of the Army, alongside a group of esteemed senior army officers.
The meeting, which took place amid the ongoing week-long trip of Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar to the Middle East, signifies the strong commitment to strengthening bilateral ties between Pakistan and Kuwait.
The Prime Minister’s Office released a statement highlighting the significance of this visit, emphasizing the collaborative efforts to sign several Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs).
These agreements are set to encompass various sectors such as manpower, information technology, minerals and mining, food security, energy, and defense, thereby fostering a new era of economic cooperation between the two nations.

Notably, 2023 marks the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Pakistan and Kuwait, adding depth and historical significance to the current visit.
Upon his arrival, Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar was warmly received by Kuwait’s Minister for Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy, Dr. Jassim Mohammed Abdullah Al-Ostad, signifying the mutual eagerness to further strengthen the diplomatic and economic bonds between Pakistan and Kuwait.
Today, Prime Minister Kakar is scheduled to hold crucial discussions with the Kuwait Crown Prince and his counterpart, Sheikh Ahmed Al-Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, solidifying the foundation for enhanced bilateral cooperation.
