Rawalpindi, 11 November 2021 (TDI): British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Christian Turner met Chief of Army Staff, Qamar Javed to discuss the regional security situation. The dignitaries met and deliberated at General Head Quarters, Rawalpindi. The two sides extended their discussions on the subject matter of recent developments in Afghanistan.
In the meeting, Chief of Army Staff, Qamar Javed Bajwa appreciated United Kingdom’s role in global and regional affairs. Chief of Army Staff acknowledged United Kingdom’s efforts and urged the High Commissioner to extend their efforts to uplift Afghanistan. Chief of Army Staff reiterated the importance of an international resolve to avert any possibility of the humanitarian and economic crisis in Afghanistan.
British High Commissioner to Pakistan, Christian Turner appreciated Pakistan’s efforts and its role in the current Afghan situation. He also lauded Pakistan’s consistent efforts to sustain regional peace and stability.
The two sides discussed issues of mutual interest and expressed their interest in enhancing their bilateral relations. The visiting dignitary asserted that the United Kingdom is interested to indulge in peace-building measures and also engage in diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan. The visiting dignitary signified diplomatic cooperation with Pakistan at all levels. Pakistan’s cooperation with the United Kingdom will further strengthen its relations with the UK and its allies.
