CM Punjab, Turkish Envoy Discuss Strategic and Economic Ties

Lahore (TDI): Turkish Ambassador Irfan Naziroglu called on Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif on Sunday to discuss bilateral relations and matters of mutual interest.

CM Maryam warmly welcomed the envoy and expressed deep gratitude for Turkiye’s consistent and principled support for Pakistan, especially in the face of Indian aggression.

She said that Pakistan deeply values Turkiye’s steadfast diplomatic, moral, and strategic support. She also acknowledged the unwavering solidarity shown by the Turkish government and people.

The CM recalled the powerful words of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, “We are with Pakistan in good and bad times,” stating they are deeply etched in the hearts of every Pakistani.

Moreover, during the meeting, both sides discussed opportunities in trade cooperation, regional peace, and cultural ties.

Maryam said that Pakistan and Turkiye are more than allies; both nations are bound by the links of faith, culture, and shared history.

She stated that ties between Pakistan and Turkiye are a model of mutual trust, lasting friendship, and common values.

The CM extended heartfelt thanks to the Turkish government and First Lady for their warm hospitality during her recent trip to Turkiye for the Anatolian Diplomacy Forum.

Underlining economic potential, she stressed the significance of increasing bilateral trade and investment.

“The signing of twenty-four deals during the Seventh High-Level Strategic Cooperation Council is a welcome measure,” she noted.

Punjab is completely ready to transform its friendship with Turkiye into a robust economic partnership, she added.

Maryam emphasized Punjab’s vast export potential, investor-friendly environment, and modern infrastructure as major strengths that could attract Turkish investment.

“There are immense opportunities for cooperation. We want to turn our fraternal ties into a dynamic economic movement,” she said.

She also commended the religious and cultural harmony between the two countries, describing it a unique and enduring bond.
