Lahore (TDI): In a meeting with US Consul General Stetson Sanders, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz extended a cordial invitation to American investors to explore the rich business landscape of Pakistan’s most populous province.
She pointed to the province’s abundant investment opportunities and rising economic momentum, saying Punjab is “a land rich in cultural diversity and history, and it holds immense potential to become a global tourism hub.”
During the meeting, Maryam Nawaz emphasized that the province’s legacy of ancient civilization and religious culture, alongside its modern drive for infrastructure and investment reforms, offers a compelling destination for foreign capital.
She also underscored initiatives spanning environmental improvement, tourism revitalization, women’s empowerment, and e-business reforms as evidence of Punjab’s commitment to becoming investor-friendly.
Consul General Sanders expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by the Punjab government and highlighted his admiration for the province’s e-business project, which he said is streamlining access for investors.
“The speed and efficiency with which work is being carried out in Punjab are commendable, and investors can feel the positive changes,” he remarked.

The meeting also touched on the broader bilateral relationship between Pakistan and the United States, which has seen renewed energy in recent months.
Maryam Nawaz referenced the recent visit of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to the US, noting that it further solidifies collaboration and opens up new avenues for business and investment.
Specific sectors highlighted during the discussion included cultural tourism, green technology, digital services, and women-led enterprises.
The Chief Minister pointed to Punjab’s recovery from severe floods, noting that rescue, relief, and rehabilitation efforts have been comprehensive, showing the province’s resilience and administrative capacity.
The Punjab government continues to welcome US investors to examine opportunities in infrastructure, tourism, agriculture, digital commerce, and renewable energy.
With improving institutional frameworks and a pro-investment climate, Punjab is positioning itself as a region where foreign capital can partner in sustainable growth and share in rising demand.
As the meeting concluded, both sides committed to follow-up discussions on specific investment prospects, and the US Consulate indicated it would share further guidance and contacts for interested investors.
