Brussels, 11 November 2021 (TDI): European Economic and Social Committee President Christa Schweng, met with EU High Representative on Foreign and Security Policy, Josep Borrell Fontanelles.
During the meeting with the President of the European Economic and Social Committee, the relevant issues and achievements came under discussion.
The European Civil Society is the most organized forum in the European Union. It promotes democratic values and raises the voice to promote civil rights and rule of law.
It has been mutually decided that joint efforts will be adopted for a better future for the European Union. Christa Schweng informed the EU high representative about the current geopolitical context about the protection and supporting activities of workers and small businesses; through committee legislative efforts.
European Union civil society will work parallel to diplomacy; to implement the European Union foreign and security policy objectives. It will share experiences to promote the European Union’s commonly shared values and to implementation of the rule of law.
In the context of anxious situations at the border of Europe and Belarus and European Union policy about migrants, the meeting was very significant.
