Punjab (TDI): Pakistan’s largest province, Punjab, borders India and in view of the ongoing escalation between the two countries, the Punjab Government has directed the civil defense department to conduct mock drills.
The purpose of such drills is to prepare for any emergency situation. These drills are taking place in Rawalpindi, Murree, Jhelum, Chakwal, Sargodha, Narowal, Gujranwala, Sialkot, Sahiwal, Multan, Muzaffargarh and other key locations of the province.
On the directions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz, Civil Defense Department has been fully activated, and Rescue 1122 is also taking part in the mock exercises.
Both Pakistan and India are on high alert since India launched missiles inside the Pakistani territory on May 7. Pakistan downed five Indian jets in response and a meeting of the National Security Committee decided that Pakistan will retaliate further.
Seeing the risk, large scale mock drills and blackouts were observed in India yesterday, while Indian drones violated Pakistan’s airspace yet again last nigh. Pakistan’s Military Spokesperson told the media that twenty five Indian drones have been shot down as they violated Pakistani territory.

Drones were neutralized in Lahore, Gujranwala, Bahawalpur, Miano, Chakwal, Karachi, Chhor, Rawalpindi, and Attock. One drone crashed near Lahore, while others were neutralized close to Rawalpindi, Chakwal, and Karachi.
Four Pakistan Army personnel sustained injuries in Lahore as a result of a drone attack, while one civilian was martyred in Miano, Sindh, according to DG ISPR Lieutenant General Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry. He said that Pakistan’s armed forces remain fully alert.
The military spokesperson added that the process of India sending across these Harop drones was a “serious serious provocation”.
“This naked aggression continues, and the armed forces are on high degree of alert and shooting down them as we speak,” he asserted.
