Beijing, 6 September 2022 (TDI): The China International Fair for Trade in Services (CIFTIS) concluded in Beijing on Monday. It was held from 31 August to 5 September in Beijing, China.


The theme of this year was  “cooperate for better development, innovate for a greener future”. The Ministry of Commerce and the Beijing municipal government together hosted CIFTIs for the year 2022.

The Fair held exhibitions on telecommunications, computer and information services, financial services, culture and tourism, education and sports, and supply chain services. Additionally, for the first time, CIFTIs held thematic observations on environmental services.

CIFTIS brought various governments, international organizations, global service trade enterprises, and institutions together.

During the event, they showcased achievements, shared business opportunities, communicated, negotiated, and cooperated with potential partners.

Remarks by the President of China

Chinese President, Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to CIFTIS 2022. On the occasion, the President highlighted that CIFTIS is a crucial platform for China to expand opening-up, deepen cooperation, and pioneer innovation.

President Xi said that it has made a positive contribution to promoting the development of the services industry and services trade throughout the world.

Moreover, he affirmed that China will stay committed to promoting high-quality development by broadening market access in the services sector and expanding its services at the global level.

On the occasion, the President also affirmed that China is ready to work with other countries to uphold real multilateralism, inclusiveness, and win-win cooperation.

He also affirmed jointly promoting a shared services economy for the recovery of the global economy.

Achievements of the CIFTIS 2022

This year’s fair attracted over 10,200 enterprises from both China and foreign countries which helped generate 1,339 new projects and investments in seven fields.

Moreover, the fair showcased advanced medical technologies, including telemedicine and robot-assisted surgery. Many healthcare enterprises from around the world exhibited their innovations. It also assisted healthcare cooperation and agreements between many parties.

Additionally, contracts for 12 sports services projects worth $1.46 billion were signed. The 12 projects are from multiple fields including competition, training, culture, and tourism.

Furthermore, the Fair held exhibitions of different green technology services, robotics, and financial services.


Hua Chunying, the Assistant Minister of Chinese Foreign Affairs also highlighted CIFTIS’s achievements. She emphasized that the CIFTIs concluded 513 deals. Moreover, 175 investment agreements and 173 products were also launched. at the Fair

The Minister expressed that the success of CIFTIS mirrored the rapid development of China’s trade in services.

Many countries and international companies participated in the Fair to showcase their products and innovations.
