Beijing, 9 December 2021 (TDI): Chinese President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to the 2021 South-South Human Rights Forum.

South-South Human Rights Forum 2021 commenced on 8 December 2021 in Beijing. Xi Jinping in his congratulatory letter stated that the human rights situation expresses the progress of human civilization.
The Chinese President highlighted that the Communist Party of China has always worked for the promotion of human rights. He stated that China is committed to promoting democracy in the world. China put a huge emphasis on human rights, he added. He said that people’s interests have been the priority of China. Therefore, China will continue its efforts in protecting human rights.
Xi pointed out the situation of human rights in China. He stated that the Chinese people are happier than ever. China has achieved remarkable success in safeguarding human rights. The Chinese people have a greater sense of human rights and they know their rights are protected in China.
He underscored in his congratulatory letter that every country should be free to adopt a democratic system according to the demand of its society. No one should try to enforce their system on others. Democracy urges to respect the perspectives of others and prohibits enforcing one’s perspective on others. Therefore, every country in the world should choose a democratic system of its choice and no one should intervene in it.
Chinese President Xi Jinping stated that China is ready to work with the developing countries to create a global community based on shared values with a shared future. China is committed to promoting the true practice of multilateralism so that no one can hurt the peace and prosperity of the world by their unilateral actions.
The South-South Human Rights Forum is a biennial event. It started on 8 December 2021 in Beijing, China. It is jointly hosted by the State Council Information Office of China and the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The theme of the forum was, “putting people first and global human rights governance.”
