Beijing, 14 September 2021 (TDI): Chinese President XiJingping sent a message to his Portuguese counterpart, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa on the death of former Portuguese President Jorge Sampaio.
Xi praised the statesmanship and leadership of Jorge and said that he enjoyed a high reputation in the international community.
The former president Sampaio enabled the strategic partnership between China and Portugal to establish and grow.
XiJinping said with alacrity that the consolidation of ties and deepening the cooperation in different fields will be continued as partners.
“We must take care of the benefits of both countries and its natives,” noted Xi.
