Chinese Premier Receives Guard of Honour at PM House

ISLAMABAD, (TDI): Chinese Premier Li Qiang, who arrived in Pakistan on Monday ahead of the heads of government gathering of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO), received a guard of honour at the Prime Minister’s House.

As Premier Li reached the venue, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif warmly welcomed him.

The national anthems of both Pakistan and China were played while the dignitary stood at the salute dais.

A smartly turned-out contingent from the three-armed forces presented a guard of honour, which Premier Li reviewed.

Following the ceremony, both prime ministers introduced their respective delegations before proceeding to their bilateral meeting and talks.

Moreover, Premier Li planted a sapling in the PM House lawn as a symbol of goodwill.

Earlier in the day, Premier Li was welcomed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and other cabinet members upon his arrival for a four-day bilateral visit.

Premier Li expressed his anticipation for a “historic and productive” visit on his X timeline, aiming to further strengthen and deepen the bilateral friendship.
