Beijing, 17 November 2021 (TDI): Chinese Premier Li Keqiang has emphasized the China-Africa local government cooperation.
Chinese Premier made these remarks on his virtual address to the 4th Forum on China-Africa Local Government Cooperation on 16 November 2021. About 300 leaders from local governments of China and Africa attended the meeting. Li urged for closer cooperation between China and Africa on local government.

He stated that China and Africa are iron-clad friends. Their friendship is unbreakable, he added. He emphasized that China and Africa should expand their cooperation to improve the lives of 2.7 billion Chinese and African people.
Chinese Premier said that China will continue to provide vaccines and other medical supplies to the African nations until they win the fight against the Coronavirus pandemic.
Li emphasizes China-Africa Cooperation
He stated that the two partners should enhance their cooperation in urban governance. They should learn from each other’s experiences, he added.
They should work together in eradicating poverty, social construction, and agricultural modernization, and promote cooperation between friendship cities, Li pointed out.
He stressed that China is committed to protecting the common interests of the developing countries in the world. He further stated that China aims to promote multilateralism in the world. Li also urged to enhance sister city relationship between China and Africa.
Furthermore, China and Uganda established sisterly relations between the Chinese province Liaoning and Busoga of Uganda. It will help to strengthen people-to-people contacts between the two countries.
China has been working with the African nations under the framework of the Forum on China and Africa Cooperation (FOCAC). China emphasizes huge importance to the African continent. It believes that Africa has huge potential for the Chinese project of the Belt and Route Initiative (BRI).
