Beijing, 8 September 2021 (TDI): Chinese Vice Premier Han Zheng, Ecology and Environment Minister Huang Runqiu, and Special Envoy on Climate Change Xie Zhenhua held separate meetings with the President of the 26th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), Alok Sharma during his visit to China from Sept 5 to 7.
COP26 is United Nations (UN) Climate Change Conference which is to be held in Glasgow between 1 and 12 November 2021. In the meeting, the participants had a discussion about China’s plan to achieve carbon neutrality, cut emissions, and reduce coal utilization.
Moreover, China and UK are cooperating in plummeting the inflictions of climate change that are hurting the global climate. Furthermore, the coordination in COP was also the topic of discussion. China has already pledged to turn its economy green and is keen to drastically reduce its carbon footprint.
