Islamabad (TDI): The China Cultural Center in Pakistan, in collaboration with the Cultural Office of the Chinese embassy, has started a series of online activities to mark the 2024 Mid-Autumn Festival, themed ‘A Moon Moment to Remember,’ both in Pakistan and globally.
As part of this year’s festivities, the “Mid-Autumn Day in Poetry” video series and other vibrant events are being organized by the China Cultural Center in Pakistan.
The Mid-Autumn Festival, which is one of the most cherished holidays in China, is a time for families to gather under the full moon and light lanterns to symbolically brighten the path to success for the approaching year.

The festival will commence on September 17 this year, coinciding with the fifteenth day of the eighth month of the Chinese lunar calendar, when the moon is at its fullest.
Mid-Autumn Festival in Chinese Tradition
In Chinese tradition, the Mid-Autumn Festival is synonymous with reunion.
Festivities include feasting at round tables and moon-gazing, as the round shape represents completeness and family unity.

A variety of activities, including themed videos, performances, and other cultural content showcasing China’s Mid-Autumn celebrations, will be shared on social media platforms.
This includes the X account of Zhang Heqing, Cultural Counsellor and Director of the China Cultural Center in Pakistan, the Center’s Official WeChat Channel, and its Official Facebook Page.
