Chinese Medical Assistance to Sri Lanka

Colombo, 28 August 2021 (TDI): Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa received 300,000 doses of Sinopharm vaccine from China.

There is a great surge in Covid-19 Delta variants within the South Asia region including Sri Lanka. The main effect of this surge will be on the socio-economic structure of Sri Lanka. China is the main donor of medical assistance in the Asian region. It has earlier helped Pakistan, Nepal, and Bhutan with Sinopharm vaccines.

Prime Minister of Sri Lanka, Mahinda Rajapaksa expressed his gratitude towards Chinese Officials in their help to ensure vaccination drive in Sri Lanka to fight Covid-19 Delta Variants.
