Islamabad, 6 May 2023 (TDI): Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang and a Chinese delegation visited Pakistan Foreign Services Academy (FSA) on 5th May.
The Minister of State for Foreign Affairs and Academy Officials received the Chinese envoy at the academy. Both the Ministries interacted with the young diplomats and shared their experiences in the field of diplomacy.
During the visit, Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang also unveiled a plaque that marked the gift of the former Chinese embassy building to the Foreign Services Academy, Pakistan.
The historic building was gifted to Pakistan by the Chinese government as a gesture of goodwill and to further strengthen the bilateral relationship between the two nations.
Both the experienced Foreign Service officials from Pakistan and China provided insights into diplomacy to the young diplomats and briefed them about building and strengthening mutually beneficial relations between the nations.
The visit to the Foreign Services Academy in Pakistan was a part of Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Qin Gang’s first official trip to the country, which is expected to conclude today after two days of engagements and discussions aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations. He also met with the President of Pakistan and other high officials.
FM Qin also co-chaired the 4th China-Pakistan Foreign Ministers’ Strategic Dialogue during this trip. He will also be participating in a trilateral Foreign Ministers conference expected to take place between the Foreign Ministers of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and China later today.

Minister of State Khar, while addressing the young diplomats, said Pakistan takes pride in producing internationally recognized diplomats who have defended the country’s national interests and contributed positively to the Pakistan-China relationship.
It is believed that the young diplomats who interacted with Chinese Foreign Minister Qin Gang during his visit to the Foreign Services Academy will follow in the footsteps of their predecessors and continue to strengthen the longstanding friendship and cooperation between Pakistan and China.
In a nutshell, the visit by the Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister to Pakistan’s Foreign Services Academy demonstrates the importance of training and preparing young diplomats for successful diplomacy.
It also highlights the strong commitment of both China and Pakistan to fostering strong and promising diplomatic ties.
