While delivering the speech in Geneva, Chen Xu said that the root cause of human rights violations is conflicts. He said that the international community should embrace multilateralism and cooperation between countries, and need to focus on non-traditional security challenges in the region and respect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of every State.
Furthermore, he said that the disputes should be resolved by dialogue and cooperation rather than wagging wars and escalating conflicts. Chen reiterated that political negotiation is the only way to solve disputes.
