Islamabad, 12 June 2023 (TDI): Aamir Bizenjo, a 22-year-old student from Gwadar University in Pakistan’s Baluchistan province, recently undertook an insightful journey to Islamabad, observing China’s impressive development through a series of encounters with Chinese officials and visits to various collaborative consortiums.

As a part of a delegation comprising students and faculty from his university, Bizenjo was able to understand the significant progress under the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The delegation’s journey, facilitated by the Chinese embassy in Pakistan and the Pakistan-China Institute, brought to light China’s initiatives towards global development, security, and civilization.

Witnessing China’s prosperity has given Bizenjo a fresh perspective on economic growth and the development of his own province. “After knowing about these initiatives and projects, I got a better understanding of China and the Chinese people,” Bizenjo said, highlighting the transformative power of his China-funded scholarship.

The delegates admired the warm hospitality of the Chinese diplomats and noted the considerable efforts by China in the areas of corporate social responsibility, ranging from solar panel distribution to education scholarships.

These investments have been greatly appreciated, especially for their potential to uplift youth in Baluchistan. The delegates hoped for an expansion of these programs in the future.

Sadia Naseer, Director of Student Affairs at Gwadar University, expressed her ambition to further her professional growth by visiting Chinese universities. The delegation engaged with members of the All-Pakistan Chinese Enterprises’ Association (APCEA) and officials of the Chinese desk at Pakistan’s Foreign Ministry, enriching their understanding of China’s approach to economic growth and youth empowerment.

This enlightening trip emphasized the pivotal role of youth in a country’s economic growth, a sentiment echoed by Chinese diplomats. The experience underscores the importance of international collaborations, such as CPEC, in fostering mutual understanding, cooperation, and shared prosperity.

According to students, this interaction gave a lot of future business ideas. They also had interaction with social welfare projects funded by China in collaboration with INGOs in Pakistan.
