A Chinese delegation met with Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam, at the Kashmir Council in Islamabad on Wednesday.
The delegation included representatives from the Bureau of Geological Survey of China and the Wandah Group Land Development Company.
During the meeting, the Chinese delegation expressed interest in investing in various sectors of the mineral industry.
Federal Minister Amir Muqam highlighted the favorable environment for investment in the region, stating that Gilgit-Baltistan is an extremely safe and peaceful area for foreign investment.

The minister also spoke about the friendly relations between Pakistan and China, saying that the two countries have a long history of cooperation.
He added that the large-scale presence of minerals in the region makes the mineral sector more profitable for foreign investors.
The Chinese delegation showed interest in mapping and surveying the mineral resources of the Gilgit-Baltistan region.
Federal Minister Amir Muqam assured the delegation that his ministry would provide all possible cooperation if they presented a proposal outlining their interests.
