Chinese Ambassador met Interior Minister in Shalwar Kameez

Islamabad, 22 August 2021 (TDI): A diplomatic response to naysayers and spoilers of Pakistan-China relations, Ambassador Nong Rong met Federal Minister for Interior at his residence wearing Pakistan’s National dress Shalwar Kameez. Clad in Waistcoat and white attire, Ambassador reflects the strong support that China offers to Pakistan despite challenging times especially after the recent growing threats in the region.  Both sides discussed the changing regional situation. Minister also hosted lunch in the honor of Ambassador and Embassy staff.

This important meeting was held two days after the suicide attack on a motorcade carrying the Chinese personnel at the Gawadar Expressway project in Balochistan. Both Pakistan and China condemned this heinous act of terror killing innocent Pakistani children and injuring one Chinese person.  An earlier similar attack was made in July when a bus carrying the Chinese workers was attacked at the construction of a dam site in North of Pakistan killing 13 people including nine Chinese.

Both Ministry of Foreign Affairs from Pakistan and China have condemned this attack reflecting that spoilers cannot win.

There are series of such attacks are happening recently after the changing situation in Afghanistan and when the China Pakistan Economic Project (CPEC)- a fate-changing project under the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) of China is going on its full swing.
