China’s vaccines and other aids headed for Myanmar

Naypyidaw, 4 September 2021 (TDI): Chinese vaccines and other aid supplies headed for Myanmar as a promise to continue humanitarian support to help the country fend off pandemics and head for secure and sustainable development.

In the recent conference of ministers of member states of ASEAN, Chinese foreign minister Wang Yi pledged to assist pandemic torn economies through vaccines and other humanitarian assistance. He also hoped Myanmar would defeat the virus at the earliest date possible through the cooperative efforts of China, Myanmar, and ASEAN.

In July, Myanmar got over 2 million vaccine jabs in installments amid an increasing number of patients variably at the Chinese-Myanmar border, which also raised concerns about the hindrance in trade flow through the border.
