Beijing (TDI): In response to escalating tensions in Lebanon, China has announced plans to provide emergency humanitarian medical supplies following a request from the Lebanese government, according to the China International Development Cooperation Agency (CIDCA).
The situation in Lebanon, marked by Israeli airstrikes and explosions of communication devices, has led to a significant number of casualties.
CIDCA spokesperson Li Ming highlighted the worsening crisis in a statement, as reported by Chinese media.
The Israeli military has intensified its air campaign in Lebanon since September 23, amid rising tensions with Hezbollah.
In light of the volatile situation, China has successfully evacuated 215 Chinese nationals, including Hong Kong residents and one Taiwanese citizen, through two operations involving ships and chartered planes.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning underscored the complexity and severity of the ongoing Lebanon-Israel conflict, noting that the Chinese Embassy in Lebanon remains operational, offering guidance and assistance to remaining Chinese nationals for their safety.

Meanwhile, European leaders, including French President Emmanuel Macron, have called for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza, reiterating their support for a two-state solution.
EU foreign policy Chief Josep Borrell stressed the global security threat posed by the continued violence in the region.
Mao Ning also emphasized the need for the international community to promote de-escalation and convene a broad-based international peace conference.

She urged for the development of a clear roadmap and timeline to implement the two-state solution, advocating for the peaceful coexistence of Palestine and Israel and harmony between the Arab and Jewish peoples.
