Beijing/Santiago, 13 October 2021 (TDI): Chilean Foreign Minister Andres Allamand, spoke to China’s State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi on a call. Wang Yi indicated that China is open to continuing communication with Chile. It seeks to join the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).

Allamand, for his part, stressed that Chile will remain a solid strategic partner to China. It will continue to adhere to the one-China policy. As China agreed to communicate with Chile to join the CPTPP, Allamand stated that Chile supports China joining the CPTPP.
