Beijing, 29 July 2022 (TDI): The Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson, Zhao Lijian, stated during his regular briefing in Beijing, that China is willing to assist Pakistan in raising its citizens’ standards of living and pursuing social development.

Zhao Lijian, while talking to the press, assured that he believed the Pakistani government and people would succeed in battling the floods and rebuilding their homes. And in that regard, China is willing to offer any assistance that Pakistan needs.

Furthermore, in response to a query about the distribution of relief packages to flood-affected residents in Balochistan, he said that he is confident that the government of Pakistan is working hard toward reestablishing stability in the region.

Along these lines, he asserted that China had spent no time providing desperately needed humanitarian supplies, including food packages and solar power generation equipment.

He reiterated that China is a good ally of Pakistan and shares both prosperity and hardship.

In addition, China has sent a fresh shipment of relief packages and aid supplies to the region of Balochistan. In the province’s Qila Saifullah area, about 800 to 1,000 food packets were supplied to the people in the makeshift camps.

Not only that, but China also donated about 300 pieces of solar panels, as the recent floods disrupted the electricity lines.

Demographics of casualties due to floods

According to official sources, around 310 individuals have died, and 295 more have been injured in various rain-related accidents across Pakistan.

Balochistan reported significant losses and casualties, with 100 people killed and 57 others hurt due to flash floods brought on by monsoon rains.

In short, China has always furthered social and economic development in Pakistan. To show amity, the Chinese government and people have helped the affected Pakistani people to overcome humanitarian and social crises numerous times.
