Beijing, 18 October 2021 (TDI): The Higher Education Commission of Pakistan and the China Association of Higher Education jointly established “China-Pakistan Higher Education Research Institute” during the 4th Exchange Mechanism Conference of CPEC Consortium of Universities.

The conference was held simultaneously, in hybrid mode, at Peking University, Beijing, and National University of Science and Technology, Islamabad, on 15 October. Officials from both countries, attended the conference.

The landmark initiative of ‘China-Pakistan Research Institute’ will facilitate stronger academic linkages and high-end higher education research between the two countries. This will also open avenues for scientific and academic collaboration between both countries. Furthermore, this will reinforce existing bilateral socio-economic and political relations between China and Pakistan.

Consultant CPEC HEC, Lt Gen (Retd) Muhammad Asghar and Rector NUST Engr. Javed Mahmood Bukhari unveiled the plaque.

The two countries established CPEC Consortium of Universities in 2017. 10 Pakistani and 9 Chinese Universities collaborated on this project. The consortium now comprises 83 leading universities from China and Pakistan. The purpose of this platform is to enhance educational collaboration between the two countries. Consequently, , this extends industrial, business, infrastructural, cultural, and socioeconomic cooperation between both countries.

The 4th Exchange Mechanism Conference of CPEC Consortium of Universities holds particular importance. It took place at a time when both countries are celebrating 70 years of establishment of diplomatic relations.
