Islamabad (TDI): Chinese Ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zaidong, said that the friendship between China and Pakistan is a shared consensus among the people of both countries, transcending regions, generations, and professions.

He expressed these views while addressing the award ceremony of the China-Pakistan 75th Anniversary Commemorative Badge Design Competition, which was jointly attended by Pakistani Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch.

The ceremony marked an important milestone in the year-long celebrations commemorating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.

Ambassador Jiang congratulated the organizers on the successful hosting of the competition and praised the enthusiastic participation from across Pakistan.

Highlighting the significance of the event, Jiang noted that more than 2,000 submissions were received, reflecting the deep emotional connection and goodwill that the Pakistani people hold toward China.

He especially lauded the three winning designs, created by participants from different regions and professional backgrounds, saying they vividly represented the widely held belief that “China-Pakistan friendship is a consensus among all citizens.”

“The designs have made the ironclad friendship between our two countries more tangible, visible, and relatable,” the ambassador said.

He emphasized that the active participation and strong support of the people of both nations serve as a vital driving force for advancing bilateral cooperation in various fields.

Ambassador Jiang reaffirmed China’s commitment to working closely with Pakistan under the framework of people-centered diplomacy.

He said both sides would continue efforts to accelerate the building of a China-Pakistan community with a shared future, ensuring that cooperation delivers concrete benefits to the people of the two countries.

Addressing the ceremony, Foreign Secretary Amna Baloch expressed gratitude to China for its continued support and collaboration.

She said the badge design competition, which primarily targeted young people, demonstrated the solid foundation of Pakistan-China relations and the sincerity of the younger generation’s sentiments toward China.

“The overwhelming response to this competition reflects how deeply rooted the Pakistan-China friendship is, particularly among our youth,” she said. “It is encouraging to see young Pakistanis creatively expressing their affection and respect for China through art and design.”

Amna Baloch added that Pakistan looks forward to using this event as a stepping stone to successfully organize a series of commemorative activities throughout the year.

These initiatives, she said, aim to celebrate the 75th anniversary in a meaningful way while ensuring that the spirit of Pakistan-China friendship continues to be carried forward and passed down to future generations. The ceremony concluded with the presentation of awards to the winners.
