Harare, 13 November 2021 (TDI): China has been building wells in Zimbabwe to provide safe water to its people. China is committed to sustainable development in vulnerable African nations.
Chinese Cooperation with African Nations
The African continent has been of immense importance for China. It has been assisting African nations to help them in the economic challenges. China has been also helping them in sustainable development. Chinese project of the Belt and Road Initiative will enhance industrialization by building infrastructure in African nations. The Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) also tends to enhance Chinese cooperation and development in Africa. Therefore, China is committed to helping the poor developing states of Africa.
Chinese Cooperation with Zimbabwe
China has been also helping Zimbabwe to deal with its economic challenges. China has been also one of the biggest investors in Zimbabwe. It has also been helping Zimbabwe in its humanitarian crisis posed by Climate change. It has resulted in droughts causing severe problems in Zimbabwe.

China has also helped Zimbabwe to deal with the water crisis. Zimbabweans face many problems in accessing clean and safe water. China has also built 1000 wells in Zimbabwe since 2012. The wells have helped a lot of the locals to get safe water. Those 1000 wells have been providing safe water to almost 400 000 people of Zimbabwe.
China dug wells in 6 provinces of China
China has dug wells in six provinces of Zimbabwe. It has helped 3% of the population of Zimbabwe. China further aims to build more wells to help the people of Zimbabwe. It is consistently assisting Zimbabwe in different fields.
China also helped a lot Zimbabwe during the pandemic by providing vaccines and other medical supplies. The two countries are committed to strengthening their relationship by enhancing cooperation. The safe water wells are a landmark initiative in the Zimbabwe-China cooperation.
