China extends wishes to Maldives on 56th independence day


Beijing: 26 July 2021 (TDI):On the occasion of the 56th independence day of Maldives, the Chinese foreign minister and President extended their heartfelt felicitations to their Maldavian counterparts.

In a phone call, Chinese president Xi Jinping wished the Maldivian president Mohamed Solih on the occasion. “Greetings & best wishes to the people of Maldives,” said President Xi on the 56th independence of Maldives. He also expressed his desire to deepen and promote bilateral relations with the Maldives.

The Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also congratulated the Foreign Minister of Maldives Abdullah Shahid on the occasion of the 56th independence of Maldives. Both sides agreed to implement the consensus reached by President Xi and Solih during the phone call.
