Beijing (TDI): China on Thursday strongly condemned the killing of Iranian leaders and attacks on civilian targets, calling such actions “unacceptable” as tensions continue to rise in the ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel and the United States.
Speaking at a regular press briefing, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian reiterated Beijing’s opposition to the use of force in international relations.
“The killing of Iranian leaders and attacks on civilian targets are by no means acceptable,” he said in response to a question from reporters.
The statement follows reports that Ali Larijani, secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, was killed in an Israeli strike, further intensifying the situation.
China has consistently urged all sides to exercise restraint and pursue a peaceful resolution as the conflict deepens.
Earlier this week, Beijing announced emergency humanitarian assistance for Iran, Jordan, Lebanon, and Iraq, citing worsening conditions caused by the ongoing crisis.

Lin described the situation as a “severe humanitarian disaster” affecting people across the region. “China deeply sympathises with those impacted, and our hearts go out to them,” he said.
He added that China would continue to promote dialogue, push for a ceasefire, and support efforts aimed at restoring stability while preventing further deterioration of the humanitarian situation.
