Beijing (TDI): China stands ready to work with global community to continue to play a constructive role in easing the current tension between Pakistan and India, Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Lin Jian said on Wednesday.
Responding to queries regarding the current situation between the two nuclear-powered neighbors, the spokesperson said that Beijing made clear its position on the issue.
He stated, “China finds India’s military operation early this morning regrettable.”
Lin Jian said that Beijing is concerned about the current situation. Pakistan and India are and will always be each other’s neighbors. They are both China’s neighbors as well.
He further said that China opposes all kinds of terrorism and urged both nations to act in the larger interest of peace and stability, exercise restraint, follow calm and refrain from taking measures that may further complicate the situation.

In response to a query about any impact on Chinese nationals in region, he stated that Beijing was closely following the developments.
“We advise Chinese nationals and institutions in the relevant regions to closely monitor the situation, raise their safety awareness, avoid visiting the regions involved in the conflict and in case of emergencies, immediately contact the Chinese missions to acquire help.”

To yet another query regarding Beijing’s role in easing tension, he reiterated Chinese principled position about ongoing situation between Pakistan and India.
He said that the global community is monitoring the current situation and Beijing is committed to promoting negotiations for peace and keeping the region peaceful and stable.
