China and Malaysia to promote bilateral relations

Kuala Lumpur, 10 November (TDI): Han Zheng, the Vice President of China, conveyed China’s eagerness to work in tandem with Malaysia to enhance their mutual relations.

This sentiment is particularly significant as both countries are on the verge of celebrating half a century of diplomatic relations in the coming year.

Han discussed this with Sultan Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah, the Supreme Head of Malaysia. He emphasized the long-standing friendship between the two countries, which, despite being geographically apart by sea, share a bond of amity.

Han further articulated China’s commitment to collaborate with Malaysia on the Belt and Road initiative, a high-quality project, to create a community with a shared future.

China is eager to enhance its collaboration with neighboring countries and boost its concrete partnership with ASEAN nations, such as Malaysia, in various domains to foster lasting affluence and peace in the region.

On his behalf, Sultan Abdullah stated that China’s strong economic performance has stimulated the growth of ASEAN members and expressed Malaysia’s readiness to elevate its cooperation to serve the interests of both peoples.

Han praised China-Malaysia relations as a model of amicable interactions among nations and met with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya, Malaysia, on Thursday.

The Chinese vice president stated that China has considered Malaysia a reliable ally and a key strategic partner and that China has consistently backed Malaysia in pursuing a development course that fits its national situation.

And is ready to collaborate with Malaysia in staunchly defending each other on matters concerning their core interests

Anwar stated that the Malaysia-China ties have special and strategic importance and that Malaysia is ready to strengthen its partnership with China in different domains.

And hopes to see Chinese firms investing and operating in Malaysia for the sake of attaining shared wealth and progress.
