Beijing, 14 December 2021 (TDI): China and France have agreed to expand their economic cooperation.
China and France held an economic dialogue. The dialogue was held online on Monday, 13 December 2021. The two sides in the dialogue agreed to strengthen their bilateral cooperation in the fields of economy, nuclear energy, finance, environmental protection, and aviation. They discussed enhancing environmentally friendly economic development to deal with the challenge of climate change.
The China-France economic dialogue focused to enhance bilateral cooperation at a time when most of the European states have adopted a hostile approach for dealing with China. High officials from the two countries participated in the virtual meeting. Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua and French Economy and Finance Minister Bruno Le Maire co-chaired the bilateral meeting.
Chinese Vice Premier highlighted bilateral cooperation
Hu Chunhua stated that under the leadership of the two heads of state, China and France have achieved new records of cooperation. He highlighted that the two countries have increased their bilateral investment. The two countries have also enhanced cooperation in the fields of agriculture and other key emerging areas.
Hu stated that the two countries look forward to expanding cooperation in green development. French Finance Minister also expressed the willingness of France to enhance its bilateral cooperation with China. He said that France put great importance on its relations with China. It looks forward to strengthening its economic and financial cooperation with China.
The China-France High-Level Economic and Financial Dialogue was founded in 2013. It was the 8th session of the China-France Economic Dialogue. It is an important platform for the two countries to strengthen their economic and financial relations. The economic dialogue between the two countries has played a key role in the economic cooperation of the two states. The China-France cooperation will also help to improve China-EU relations as France will chair the council of Europe in the next year.
