Islamabad (TDI): Dorsaf Maaroufi, the Chargé d’Affaires of Tunisia in Pakistan, with concurrent accreditation to Bangladesh and Afghanistan, was honored with the Global Ambassador Award for her dedicated work that significantly strengthened Pakistan’s relations with Tunisia.
Since joining the mission, she has distinguished herself as the youngest head of mission accredited to Pakistan, carrying her responsibilities with great professionalism and purpose.
Chargé d’Affaires Maaroufi began her diplomatic career at Tunisia’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, working in the General Directorate of Legal Affairs and advocating Tunisia’s interests in international forums.
Since assuming her post in Islamabad, she has actively engaged with institutions, civil society, and the business community to strengthen Tunisia–Pakistan relations.
Her efforts have advanced tourism, economic cooperation, academic collaboration, and cultural exchange.
She has facilitated visa processes, supported participation in major trade and cultural events, and coordinated one of the largest trade delegations, sent to participate in the International Coffee Festival in Tunisia in February 2025, which resulted in an MoU between chambers of commerce of Tunisia and Pakistan.
She is also leading efforts toward multiple bilateral agreements and the next Joint Ministerial Commission in 2026.
A strong advocate for women’s empowerment, she has worked closely with Pakistani organizations to support rural women and promote Tunisia’s model of gender inclusion.
Guided by a vision of South–South cooperation, she emphasizes a partnership that is built on solidarity, sustainable development, and public policies that invest in human capital.
Chargé d’Affaires Maaroufi holds Master’s in Research in Public Law and Constitutional Law. In Pakistan, she has actively promoted people-to-people ties, tourism, economic cooperation, and academic exchanges through sustained diplomatic outreach.
