Consular assistance involves the help provided by a state’s diplomatic agents to their citizens who are either traveling or living abroad. It also deals with immigration problems, particularly the ones related to passports.
The Consulate of a state is generally established in every other country. It mainly collects and archives information for the state itself which can later be used for investigation purposes such as the verification of criminal records.
