Islamabad, 13 August 2024 (TDI): The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Tuesday approved the feasibility studies for the Shahdara and Chiniot dam projects.

The approval came during the 11th CDA board meeting with Chairman Muhammad Ali Randhawa in the chair. The meeting was called to address the capital city’s water scarcity challenges.

According to a press release, the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) will now conduct studies to find new ways to harness water from Khanpur Dam and implement advanced wastewater treatment technologies.

Furthermore, the CDA Board approved engaging consultants to construct 104 family suites for parliamentarians, enhancing accommodation facilities for lawmakers.

The board approved investor-friendly policies for commercial plot auctions to stimulate economic growth, fostering a conducive business environment.

The meeting also marked a new beginning for the parliamentarian housing project, as the services of the previous consultant were terminated, paving the way for fresh expertise.
