
Islamabad, 13 November 2021 (TDI): Bulgarian Ambassador to Pakistan, Irena Gancheva met Chaudhry Fawad Hussain, Minister of Information and Broadcasting. The Information Minister speaking to the Bulgarian Ambassador in Islamabad on Thursday, 11 November that Pakistan had been voicing its worries to the world about Afghanistan because the current situation in Afghanistan is not less than a tragedy.
He said that the international community, especially the European Union, must do its part in ensuring Afghanistan’s stability.

He described a recent article on Afghanistan by the international newspaper The Economist as “worrisome,” claiming that twenty-three million people, out of a total population of 38 million, were malnourished and children perished of hunger in the war-torn country.

He said Pakistan would not recognise the current government of Afghanistan until the regional powers acknowledged it.
The minister said Pakistan and Bulgaria had been enjoying decades-long diplomatic and brotherly ties, adding Pakistan always kept its ties with Bulgaria in highest esteem.
Pakistan’s efforts to ensure the safe departure of foreign people and diplomats from Afghanistan were praised by the Bulgarian envoy.
