Hanoi, 7 August 2021 (TDI): On the 6th of August, Vietnamese Foreign Minister Bui Thanh Son took part in the virtual ASEAN-EU Foreign Ministers’ Meeting as part of the 54th ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting.
Attended by Foreign Ministers of ASEAN countries, Vice President of the European Commission and High Representative of the EU for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Josep Borrell Fontelles, ASEAN Secretary-General Dato Lim Joc Hoi and other participating countries expressed a welcoming remark to the EU as it affirms strengthen its commitment to promoting cooperation based on sharing common values, principles, and interests, upholding multilateral cooperation and promoting a rules-based international order. Aimed at continuously making positive contributions to peace, stability, and prosperity to the ASEAN.
Furthermore, in 2022, the EU’s proposal to hold the 45th ASEAN-EU Commemorative Summit will be held in Brussels, Belgium following ASEAN’s consensus to participate.
