New York, 20 September 2021 (TDI): United Kingdom’s (UK) Prime Minister Boris Johnson has reached the United States of America (USA) to attend the 76th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA). Foreign Secretary, Liz Truss is accompanying him.
UK’s agenda for this year’s UNGA session is to find a feasible response to the crisis in Afghanistan. The key focus of the UK at the session will also shed light on improving global access towards Covid-19 vaccines.
Moreover, it will also try to build momentum for the United Nations Climate Change Conference, which is to be held in Glasgow later this year. The United Kingdom is trying to invite more countries to the conference.
Prime Minister Boris Johnson has stated that the world should recover from the pandemic in a sustainable way. He believes that ‘Green growth’ is the only way forward.
Foreign Secretary Liz Truss wrote in the Telegraph, a British newspaper, that goal of her policies is to put the United Kingdom at the centre of a network of economic, diplomatic, and security partnerships.
