Beijing, 28 August 2021 (TDI): Fu Cong, the Director-General of the Department of Arms Control and Disarmament of the Foreign Ministry China, tweeted about the briefing to foreign media on COVID-19 origin-tracing, in Beijing. He gave details about the letter written by Ambassador Chen Xu, the Permanent Representative of China to the UN, to Tedros Adhanom, the Director-General of the World Health Organization (WHO), on 24 August 2021.
Fu explained that the ambassador expressed the leakage of the virus from Wuhan’s lab is unbelievable. Hence, the letter calls for a fair and just investigation of the origin of pandemic in other states also.
In the end, Fu Cong said that China’s position regarding this issue is straightforward; China rejects the politicization of COVID-19 origin-tracing and supports the scientific investigation of coronavirus.
