Belmopan, 18 July 2022 (TDI): Belize and Cuba commemorated twenty-seven years of diplomatic ties. Nevertheless, the Central American country is still demanding that the siege shall be lifted while fully supporting the Cuban Government and People.

On the 15th of July every year, Belize and Cuba share the bond of diplomacy by sharing each other’s achievements. The two Governments talked for the sake of strengthening their relationship and the prosperity of the two countries.

Belize-Cuba Bilateral Ties

The bilateral relationship between the two countries is a prime illustration of a successful partnership. It also delivers what is meant by being a cordial neighboring country.

Furthermore, the unbreakable partnership between the two countries has been facilitated via several positive steps. This is fostered through collaboration, sharing of values, and respect among each other.

Moreover, in April 2022, the Prime Minister of Belize, Juan Antonio “Johnny” Briceño along with a delegation visited Cuba. The State guests were welcomed by Cuban President, Miguel Díaz-Canel as a symbol of a long-standing friendship.

Additionally, on this memorable day, the Prime Minister of Belize assessed the progression of the two countries’ political, economic, and social ties. Moreover, during the meeting, many strategies were redefined to improve the beneficial outcomes for both countries.

Various initiatives between both nations keep on to add value in raising the depth of the relationship between the countries. Likewise, the efforts of Cuba are remarkably laudable despit the financial embargo imposed on the country by the US.

About more than a hundred students have earned scholarship benefits from Cuban Universities. Adding to this, about 118 students from Belize have been employed in the Public Sector in Cuba nationwide.

Also, there has been an assimilation of the Health Specialists, Technical Workers as well as Nursing Staff in Belize. The Government has employed them in their Public Health System.

Moving ahead, in the same vein, the ongoing influences of the Cuban artists have had a long-lasting impact on the Belize artists.
