Belize Acknowledges Mexico’s Vaccine Donation

Belmopán, 4 October 2021 (TDI): The Prime Minister of Belize, John Briceño acknowledged the donation of Mexico of 100k AstraZeneca vaccines for Belize, as an expression of brotherhood, on 3 October.

Firstly, Briceño mentioned that the vaccines will help with their vaccination campaigns. Briceño also stated that regionalism and multilateralism are ideal against Covid-19. The Mexican Ambassador to Belize, Martha Zamarripa announced the donation, managed by the Foreign Minister, Marcelo Ebrard through the Embassy, and Deputy Secretary of Multilateral Affairs and Human Rights, Martha Delgado.

The vaccines were received by Briceño; the first lady of Belize, Rossanna Briceño; the Foreign Minister, Eamon Harrison Courtenay; and the Vice-Minister of Foreign Affairs, Amalia Isabel Mai; from the side of Belize.

Lastly, according to the Office of Foreign Affairs; the objective of this donation is for the second dose of vaccine for Belize’s citizens.  The Office mentioned that Mexico is committed to working and cooperating with the region against Covid-19.
