Belarus, Pakistan to develop cooperation

Minsk, 16 January 2023 (TDI): The Foreign Minister of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik met with Pakistan’s Minister of Energy, Khurram Dastgir Khan as they discussed ways to further strengthen cooperation on trade and investment.

The parties met to discuss crucial topics for the development of their countries. The two countries are seeking to enhance trade relations to strengthen the bilateral ties with the initiatives set to be kept in place.

The investment cooperation between them which is set to yield more income was discussed during the meeting.

The Energy Minister of Pakistan, Khurram Dastgir Khan made much emphasis on the need for them to look at their energy sectors and how they can partner to generate revenue for the development of their countries.

Also, they talked about the benefits they will obtain from these initiatives. Stating that, the aim to promote the economic development of their countries will be much dependent on the energy sector of their countries.

The pandemic coupled with the Russia-Ukraine crisis there has a huge economic challenge placed on all countries especially the energy sector of the economy. The mutual development that everyone seeks relies on partnerships and cooperation.

The Foreign Minister of Belarus, Sergei Aleinik stated that Belarus is always open to any form of investment deals with Pakistan. Ensuring that there is an expansion of contacts between Belarus and Pakistan business circles has also been discussed.

They talked about ensuring that, they promote the high private sector and other stakeholder partnership deals among investors of these two countries.

The countries’ aim in generating foreign exchange within the year will be made possible with these key initiatives. They seek to develop strong economic relations as they move ahead in their developmental agenda.

In the end, Pakistan’s Energy Minister conveyed a letter from the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shehbaz Sharif containing detailed issues of what was been discussed during the meeting.
