Rawalpindi (TDI): Former Chief of Army Staff General (retd) Qamar Javed Bajwa has been admitted to the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) after suffering injuries in a fall at his residence, the military’s media wing confirmed on Thursday.
In a brief statement, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the former army chief is currently undergoing medical treatment at CMH. No further details were provided about his condition.
A day earlier, it was reported that Bajwa sustained a head injury after slipping in the bathroom of his home at around 4:30am on Tuesday. Following the incident, he was moved to hospital and admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU) for observation and treatment.

General Bajwa served as Pakistan’s Chief of Army Staff from November 2016 until his retirement on November 29, 2022.
Before being appointed army chief, he held the position of Inspector General of Training and Evaluation at General Headquarters (GHQ).
During his career, he also served in key operational and staff roles, including at the 10 Corps as a General Staff Officer.

He commanded a brigade under a United Nations peacekeeping mission in the Democratic Republic of Congo and later served as Commandant of the Infantry School in Quetta.
Belonging to the Baloch Regiment of the infantry, General Bajwa is part of a regiment that has produced several army chiefs in the past, including Generals Yahya Khan, Mirza Aslam Beg and Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
