Azri Ambassador Parleys on Judicial System with Law Minister

Islamabad (TDI): Minister for Law and Justice Azam Nazir Tarar has reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to fostering stronger cooperation with Azerbaijan in legal assistance.

He was talking to the Ambassador of Azerbaijan Khazar Farhadov in Islamabad.

Both sides discussed collaboration in legal education, training, and capacity building for key stakeholders within their respective justice systems, according to the state-owned broadcaster, Radio Pakistan.

To facilitate this cooperation, it was agreed to establish a small working group to finalize modalities and open a communication channel between the two countries.

Highlighting close ties between the two countries, the Law Minister welcomed discussions on legislative developments in Pakistan that provide new incentives for foreign investment.

Azeri Ambassador congratulated Pakistan on the recently signed Memorandum of Cooperation between the two nations.

Ambassador also requested assistance for Azerbaijani businesses operating in Pakistan, with a focus on feasibility studies and navigating the regulatory environment.

The meeting concluded with both parties expressing their appreciation and reaffirming their commitment to enhancing cooperation and working together to further mutual interests.

Recently, Pakistan and Azerbaijan also signed fifteen agreements and MoUs for cooperation in diverse fields.

These include: Consular Affairs, transit trade, preferential trade, privatization of state property, law and justice, mineral resources and geology, culture exchange program, cooperation in information technology and telecommunication, television production, scientific and technical cooperation, tourism, air services, establishment of twin cities of Baku and Islamabad, small and medium enterprises, literature and science.

Pakistan is interested in enhancing trade ties with the regional countries. The Government of Pakistan had approved the Pakistan Investment Policy (PIP) 2023 in July, 2023, to enhance foreign and domestic investments.
