Islamabad, 19 October 2021 (TDI): Embassy of Azerbaijan to Pakistan organized an event in celebration of the restoration of the independence of Azerbaijan, on Monday.
The Speaker of National Assembly Pakistan Asad Qaiser was the Chief Guest of the event.
Other than the Speaker National Assembly, the event was attended by Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan Khazar Farhadov, Turkish Ambassador to Pakistan Mustafa Yurdakul and Pakistani Senator Talha Mahmood along with the other officials.

Speaker National Assembly, Asad Qaiser, congratulated the people and government of Azerbaijan. In his speech, he said, “Pakistan and Azerbaijan enjoy close brotherly relations, manifested by the tremendous goodwill existing between the leadership and people of the two countries.
Our relationship is based on common faith, shared ideals and a mutual desire to live in peace and dignity.”
He added, “Whether it is the issue of Occupied Jammu and Kashmir or Karabagh, the fraternity of our countries have resonated together on regional and international platforms in support of each other. The whole world is witness to the strong bonds of fraternity that bind our two nations.”

While Speaking at the events, Azeri Ambassador stressed, “Pakistan was one of the first countries that recognized the independence of Azerbaijan, demonstrating strong and valuable support over all these years.”
He called Pakistan-support to Azerbaijan during the Patriotic War, a “true demonstration of brotherhood” He also mentioned the resolution that was adopted by the National Assembly and Senate of Pakistan in support of Azerbaijan.

There are strong historical ties between the people of Baku and Islamabad. They have a shared Persian-Turkish history. Both Pakistan and Azerbaijan are largely Muslim countries.
They have similar cultural, religious, and geopolitical outlooks.
The relationship between Pakistan and Azerbaijan continues to develop in the political, religious, and cultural spheres. Both countries announced continued support to each other on all issues of mutual interest at the global and regional forums.
At the end of the event, a cake cutting ceremony was held to Celebrate the 30th Anniversary of the Independence of Azerbaijan
