Lahore, 11 November 2021 (TDI): The Argentine Republic’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Leopoldo Francisco Sahores, met with the Governor of Punjab, Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar, yesterday in Lahore.

During the meeting, Ambassador Sahores commended Pakistan’s role in maintaining regional stability and eradicating terrorism. He stated that Pakistan’s sacrifices for the eradication of radicalism are highly plausible.

He distinctly praised Islamabad’s efforts in bringing peace to Kabul, given the Taliban’s takeover in mid-August. Afghanistan is in the middle of a political and humanitarian crisis following the complete withdrawal of United States troops.

In this regard, Pakistan has strongly committed to supporting the people of Kabul on all fronts. The country provides continuous humanitarian aid to Afghanistan, mainly through relief packages.

During the meeting at Governor House Lahore, Leopoldo Sahores emphasized that the Argentine government is working closely with Islamabad in various fields; such as agriculture, industry, pharmaceuticals, and information technology.

Meanwhile, the Governor of Punjab reassured Pakistan’s efforts in providing utmost facilities, particularly security, to the foreign investors in Islamabad. He stated that Pakistan is a peaceful nation and constitutes several investment opportunities in different sectors.

In addition, the Argentinian official exhibited sheer confidence in the improvement of bilateral relations between the two states ahead. Other participants in the meeting included Salman Waris, Mian Ali Moin, and former member of the Pakistan National Assembly, Onaza Ehsan.
